Many of Pioneer Landing's summer "residents" have been a part of this camper-site/marina for many years and a family feeling is felt throughout. However, newcomers are always welcome. The Butler BridgeConstruction of the Butler Bridge began in the 1940s before the Watauga Dam was complete. It is part of Route 67 which takes travelers from Highway 321 to Mountain City, passing through Butler, the town that was moved when the lake was filled. On Memorial Day weekend, this part of the lake saw many fisher-men and -women and boats of all types.
