The Jonesborough Visitors Center is located at 117 Boone Street. Their website reports that they receive over 100,000 visitors each year. They have an extensive collection of brochures and sell crafts from regional artists.

The center also houses the Jonesborough/Washington County History Museum and Archives. It was started in 1982 and formed the Heritage Alliance in 2001. They then acquired the collection of the former Historic Jonesborough Foundation.

"The seed that grew into the Heritage Alliance was planted and nurtured in the historic preservation movement of Jonesborough, TN which began in the 1960s.  This movement had its organizational manifestation in the Jonesborough Civic Trust and produced the first National Register Historic District in Tennessee.  Over time, other heritage-oriented organizations in Jonesborough-- the Jonesborough/ Washington County History Museum and the Historic Jonesborough Foundation--were formed.  In 2001 these three organizations merged into the Jonesborough/ Washington County Heritage Alliance. . . " . . . The organizations that merged into the Heritage Alliance have always served a regional as well as local audience.  The museum's Oak Hill School Heritage Education program serves school children from a wide geographic area.  Technical consultation for preservation efforts has always been in demand by homeowners, businesses, and municipalities throughout the wider region.  And events sponsored by the Civic Trust, such as the annual Progressive Dinner, have always attracted regional guests."
