Mountain City is the county seat of Johnson County, Tennessee. Each year in August, Johnson County holds its county fair in Chamber Park on Route 67. The fair is much like rural county fairs were decades ago with the tilt-a-whirl ride, the Ferris wheel, and simple games such as throwing darts at balloons. But, of course, to children this is all new.

In addition, this agricultural area took time to show off farm and exotic animals and restored tractors and farm equipment. Adults played horseshoes and listened to local musicians.
