The Captain's Table Restaurant draws visitors from throughout the east Tennessee and western North Carolina region. It's reputation for good, fresh food and fast, friendly service make it a destination for special occasions and for casual dining. The restaurant's specialty is freshly prepared lake and sea food including trout, shrimp, oysters and flounder. Specials normally include soup and or salad, fresh bread, side dishes and dessert.

Just as memorable is the panoramic view of Watauga Lake from the dining room. While guests enjoy their lunch they can watch sailboats go by and even spot an occasional bald eagle flying past. The restaurant also has a bar and a new deck just outside for casual drinking and dining. Visitors can arrive in their boats, tie up to the dock and walk up to the restaurant.
|
Adjacent to the restaurant are rental cabins and the motel, each offering air conditioning and television. Some of the cabins have fireplaces and they all share the spectacular view. |
Next to the dining and lodging facilities is the Lakeshore Marina, a full-service marina with pontoon boat and speed boat rentals. It also rents boat slips and offers dry dock storage.
|
The Captain's Table Restaurant, Watauga Lake Motel and Cabins and the Lakeshore Marina are on the western end of the lake (see map below) but an easy drive or boat ride from any place on the lake. The restaurant is open March through October, Thursday through Sunday (see link to their website for hours below.) Their phone number is 423-725-2201.
